What is the Model United Nations?
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations meetings where high school students learn about diplomacy and international relations. Students are assigned to play the role of delegates representing different countries across the world as they attempt to solve real-world problems, keeping in mind the policies and perspectives of their assigned countries in their councils.
For example, a student may be assigned to represent Canada and will have to solve global topics such as gender equality or climate change from the policies and perspectives of Canada.
International School Nadi hosts an ISN Model United Nations Conference each year, inviting neighboring schools to join this learning experience including:
Nadi Muslim College
Natabua High School
Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College
Votualevu College and
Swami Vivekananda College
International School Suva
Fiji Agape Mission School
Parents and Guardians of attending students can watch the opening and closing ceremonies live streamed from the International School Nadi Facebook page.
ISN hopes to grow the MUN programme for many generations to come.
